Client Service Team
David W. Heath, Principal - Dave Heath brings over 25 years of hospitality industry experience to Heath & Company. Dave grew up in the restaurant industry and following his college training at the Hotel School at the University of Massachusetts worked in managerial positions with Hyatt Hotels and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Dave began his consulting career following completion of his Masters of Business Administration at Northeastern University in Boston. Following assignments with Laventhol & Horwath and later Arthur Andersen, where he managed the firm's Miami hospitality and real estate consulting practice, Dave launched Atlanta-based Heath & Company Hospitality Advisors, LLC in 1994. In 1996, Dave was invited to join the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. Dave is recognized as an authority and hospitality industry leader in the field of hotel labor management and employee productivity.

Paul Shealy, Director of Information Technology - Paul Shealy joined Heath & Company in 2003 to spearhead the company's development of web-based productivity tools for the hospitality industry. Paul graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Clemson University in 2002 and recently completed his Masters degree in Computer Science at Duke University. Paul is an accomplished programmer and software architect.

Robert J. Seddelmeyer, Project Director - With more than 30 years in the hospitality industry Bob Seddelmeyer brings vast experience to the Heath & Company team. Bob began his career in the Westin organization working his way up to Controller and then General Manager of the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles. Following his career in operations, Bob has spent the last ten years providing advisory services to the hospitality industry and has worked on more than 50 labor management assignments for hotels across the U.S.

Si Kahyai, Senior Consultant - Si Kahyai Worked for more than 25 years in various hotel management capacities for Westin Hotels and Resorts and Starwood Hotels. Most recently as complex Controller for Westin Century Plaza Hotel and Spa and St Regis, Los Angeles, a four and five star hotel, respectively, with a combined revenue of over $100 million and more than 1,200 employees. Si's key areas of expertise include operational analysis, labor standard development, labor productivity management, business planning and forecasting, market analysis and internal controls.

James Taflinger, Senior Consultant - Jim Taflinger spent the first fifteen years of his career in hotel operations, first with Hyatt Hotels and later with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Jim has worked as an Assistant Front Office Manager, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Controller, Assistant Corporate Controller, Regional Controller and as Director Company-Wide Operational Accounting. In addition, Jim is an authority on total quality management and process improvement and as a Heath & Company Senior Consultant has worked on more than a dozen labor management consulting assignments.

Carl Wolfbrandt, Senior Consultant - With more than 25 yeas of hotel industry experience, Carl Wolfbrandt has worked in various managerial capacities, (including as a General Manager) for Del Webb Corporation, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Corporation. As a hotel labor management consultant Carl has worked for Arthur Young & Associates, as an internal labor consultant for Holiday Corporation and as a principal in his own firm, Standard Solutions, Inc. Carl is also a recognized authority on gaming devices and managing productivity of gaming personnel. |
Alan Ventress, Consultant - Alan Ventress began his career in the hospitality industry at the age of 15. An early love for the industry led him to pursue a hospitality management degree while he began to focus on food and beverage. Alan's love of cooking drove him to Johnson and Wales University for a culinary degree followed by the calling to gain fine dining experience. He then thrived over the next 6 years as a chef for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. The analytical foundation of Alan's personality yearned for more knowledge, and this resulted in the acquisition of a finance concentrated MBA from Georgia State University. Alan brings extensive experience in food and beverage coupled with a widespread knowledge of the financial details of a full service hotel.

Michael L. Oshins, Consultant - Following a brief career in hotel operations at the Waldorf Astoria, Mike Oshins has been a hotel labor management consultant since 1985. In the 1980s, as Vice President of Integer Dynamics, Mike was one of the principle architects of TimeBoss, the hospitality industry's first automated labor scheduler. Mike has directed and participated in dozens of hotel labor management assignments. In addition to his responsibilities with Heath & Company, Mike is a Professor in the School of Hotel & Food Administration at Boston University, teaching courses in Hotel Technology and Human Resources.
